OT TECHNICIAN

Diploma in Operation Theatre (OT) Technician
Duration: 1 Year
(4 Months Theory & Basic Practical + 8 Months On-Job Training)

Course Summary:

This diploma program equips students with foundational knowledge and practical skills essential for assisting in surgical procedures and maintaining operation theatre protocols. The theory and practical sessions cover anatomy and physiology, surgical instruments, sterilization and infection control techniques, anesthesia equipment, emergency care basics, and patient preparation. Students also learn about surgery protocols, basic life support (BLS), and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Following theoretical training, students undergo eight months of on-job training in operation theatres, where they gain hands-on experience assisting surgeons and nursing staff during surgeries, managing anesthesia equipment, and maintaining sterile environments. This comprehensive training readies graduates to effectively support surgical teams and ensure smooth OT functioning in hospitals and surgical centers.
